We would like to make your visit to Limestone as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. Below are some frequently asked questions about our services and programs: If you cannot find the answer here contact us online or at the church office.
What should we wear, what do others wear to church on Sunday mornings?
Good questions. At Limestone Baptist, you will find a variety of dress styles. There are many people who like to dress up and there are many who like to be more casual in their dress. You will see nice suits all the way to jeans. So we would encourage you to dress as you are used to in other churches or what ever makes you comfortable.
How long are the services?
At Limestone Baptist Church your time is valued. Each service will generally last an hour on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Will I be asked to do anything weird at the service?
Nope! As a visitor you can become as anonymous, or as recognized as you'd like to be during our service. If you're just wanting to slip in the back and scoot out right when service ends we've got some seats saved just for you (though we hope that after a few Sunday's you'll let us get to know you some!) If you enjoy the service and want us to follow up with you and get you some more information about our Church you can fill out a connection card located on the back of a chair around you and we'll follow up with you later in the week.
Are all people welcome to LBC?
We are a local church operating in a global world who welcomes all to our doors. We are true believers in the Word and open our hearts to those who seek the Lord. We won’t turn anyone away but our direction, our walk, our worship and our works are dictated by the Bible. We seek to open up the minds and hearts of others to embrace Jesus Christ and to forego the sins of this world.
Am I going to be judged?
Nope! Church sometimes gets a reputation as a sort of country club where all the "good" people gather. I'm not sure why since our Church isn't full of perfect people, but sinners in need of a Savior. Don't be fooled by the smiles and nice clothes, we've sinned with the best of them. Jesus once said that He didn't come for the healthy people but the sick ones. Faith Baptist is a collection of unhealthy people looking to Jesus to make us well each Sunday. There's no judgment here.
What about my kids?
We've got your kids taken care of. We offer safe and secure childcare from birth through 5th grade, all of our volunteers have completed background checks and are excited for the opportunity to get to know your kids!
How can I find the right Sunday School class?
We offer a wide variety of Sunday School classes for children, youth, and adults in all stages of life. Our preschool, children, and youth are in classes based upon their age. Adult classes are primarily based upon life stages.
How do I become a member of the church?
After the sermon and before the benediction, the Pastor opens the doors of the church as an Invitation to Discipleship. This invitation is extended to you if you are in need of a church home, a member of another church in search for a new church home, or someone who is temporarily living away from their church home and want to affiliate with us while you are here.
New members are received in one of the following ways:
Profession of Faith
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and are willing to be baptized by immersion, following Jesus’ example, we will welcome you as a member upon your Baptism.
Transfer of Letter
If you have already accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, have been baptized by immersion, and are presently a member of a Baptist Church of like faith and practice, we will welcome you into our church family by letter.
Statement of Faith
If you come from another denomination or your letter in a Baptist church is no longer available, we will welcome you by statement. Those coming by statement must meet the following conditions:
--You have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
--You have been baptized by immersion, after your conversion, in a church of like faith and practice.
--You believe your Baptism is a testimony of your salvation experience.
As part of becoming a member we also encourage you to take part in our Connections Class to learn more about our church and more about our relationship with God and each other.
If you are not sure which way you should join, please feel free to speak to our pastor regarding your desire and he will help you with the rest!
Am I required to give an offering?
No. As much as we appreciate our visitor’s willingness to give, the ministries of Limestone Baptist Church are funded by our members.
What is your nursery like?
Your precious little one will be cared for by our nursery caregivers. Each caregiver has been given a background check and has been interviewed. We will always have at least 2 caregivers in each nursery room. All of our caregivers love babies, and will take good care of them.
Does the church provide counseling?
Yes. Our Pastor and staff will take the time to help you through whatever problems may arise in your life. All counseling is free and based upon the Bible.
If I don't know who my Deacon is who should I contact?
Contact our church administrative assistant at 478-934-7766 or the Chair of the Deacons.
